Hugo Boss Ma Vie Perfume

I've been dying to smell this upcoming fragrance from Hugo Boss, it was released prior to July but exclusively to World Duty Free. Unfortunately for me I wasn't travelling anywhere abroad this year so I had to wait until it was released a couple of weeks ago. It killed me hearing all the rave reviews about it but it was worth the wait! I'm not very good at describing the smell of fragrances, the top notes are Cactus Blossom but it's not really sweet and as intended, I think this makes you feel independent but girly. It's not too strong nor does it wear off really quickly. I really like the packaging the same style as Nuit and Jour fragrances but pink.
I was also looking forward to smelling the new Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume that was out in July as I love the original (despite the fact it wears off so quickly) but i wasn't keen, it was too sweet for me not so fresh and also wore off quickly when I tested it.
My boyfriend always says 'You can't go wrong with a Hugo Boss fragrance' and I would have agree to certain extent! For me my new fragrance is going to be a firm favourite I can tell. Have you smelt this new fragrance yet?

Rimmel lasting finish in Fancy a Dip

I've mentioned my love for Rimmel lasting finishing nail polishes in a previous post so I won't ramble too much! However I recently bought the colour Fancy a dip and I've never had so many compliments on my nails! This colour is so nice, I had it on my fingers and toes and just couldn't stop looking at it really. I've noticed a few other bloggers raving about this colour in the last couple of weeks too and I can see why! My photo really doesn't do the colour justice!
Love the lasting finish formulas, staying power and shades! Retails at £2.99 .....absolute bargain!

Mac Prep and Prime Highlighter (In Light Boost)

I bought this highlighter from Mac to use mainly under my eyes to conceal my dark circles. I was expecting great things as I absolutely love Mac products and had seen this being previously used in a make up tutorial. I bought the shade Light Boost. I have only been using this for three weeks or so and not everyday but I have to say I've not been too impressed. I was expecting highlighting to rival Kim Kardashian, but this didn't really do much. I've tried applying over my concealer and under and it looks ok but throughout the day I haven't noticed much of an improvement to my under eyes.
My biggest hate though is the packaging of the product, I may have a dodgy one but the pen just clicks for ages with no product coming out then all of a sudden a massive blob comes out. There's no consistency meaning uneven product distribution. I've had makeup pens like this before and never really experienced a problem, but like I say it could just be mine!?
This isn't cheap, it retails at £18.50 and as much as it pains me because this is probably the first Mac product I haven't liked (and I've used a lot!) I probably wouldn't repurchase and would rather put that money towards something else. Maybe invest that money towards something like the Yves Saint Laurent Touché Eclat....

A freebie not to be missed...

Please excuse the poor quality photo above, however I was flicking though this months Glamour magazine when I saw this and felt the need to share! I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I've desperately been waiting for the Benefit freebies they've done the last couple of years! Brilliant sample sizes allowing you to try out different products, great to pop in your handbag and for travelling. Looks like this year it's Clinique. The magazine still costs just £2 so I normally buy 3 or 4 mags to get the different freebies. It actually works out a bit of a bargain too! I thought I'd let you all know about this as things like this excite me! I'll be fighting you for the mags with the chubby sticks!! Especially Woppin' Watermelon!!
The magazines should be in stores from around the 7th July 2014.

Barry M Cor Balmy! Tinted lip balm

These new tinted lip balms hit the nail on the head when it comes to a lip balm that's pigmented with colour. The lip balm with its moisturising core makes lips feel soft and nourished whilst giving a bit of extra drama to the lips. Obviously these were always going to be compared to Maybelline Babylips and they seem as good to me but possibly with a better shade selection (see below) this being from a UK point of view, I believe America may have more.
There's not too much to say about these they do exactly as they say; nourish with colour! I think for me this isn't something I really require in my beauty bag at the present time, however for festivals, holidays or people at school etc who can't get away with a full lipstick these are great. They retail at £3.49, bargain.

Revlon Parfumerie scented nail polish

When I saw these, I thought scented nail polish? What? I remember using this when I was about 12! I was going to pretty much ignore these but my eyes kept being drawn in to the beautiful colour of Ginger Melon (top left) I did talk myself out of it for a while, knowing that I have a lot of coral colour polishes in my collection but this is such a nice, more unique colour. As I'm having a bit of a pink lip moment I spotted African Tea Rose (top right) and couldn't put it down, such a bright pink! Had to have it!
As far as the scent goes I didn't notice it too much, when you first apply it smells of nail polish but as it dries it starts to smell nicer. That lingering smell of polish didn't hang around which I was greatful for, you know when you walk back into the room and can still smell it a good hour or so later!? I have heard however the smells do vary depending on the colour and there are different scents for the various shades.
So I painted my fingers and toes last Sunday and was pleased with my summery looking nails. It's now Friday and I wanted to change up the colour but I have pretty much no chips!? I used my opi base and top coat but this has showed true staying power. I really like the design of the bottle I think they look so cute! The brush is thin but easy to work with.
Overall I wouldn't be swayed by the idea of them smelling nice but these are great long lasting nail polishes with a lovely shade selection. I really like them. They retail at £6.49 however look out for offers I got mine £4.49 in boots.

Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White Black

Black toothpaste... Say what!?

As soon as I saw this product (on twitter oddly) I thought, I have to try this as it's right up my street. Not only do I love a good ol whitening toothpaste, the fact that it's black also appealed to me.
So what's the deal? The reason it's black is because it contains activated charcoal. It states 'Activated charcoal is known for its love of tannins - compounds found in coffee, tea, wine, berries and spices - all of which stain your teeth.'
I have to say I always want whiter teeth but have never tried a dental treatment -just whitening toothpastes. I have been using this as a regular toothpaste for around 3 weeks now and coming towards the end of the tube and I have to say I have definitely noticed an improvment. I'd say they are at least two to three shades whiter and when talking to others about it they have said to me 'oh actually your teeth do look a little whiter!' Obviously your not going to see drastic results with a toothpaste but I have seen a improvement, for example you know when you put a bright coral or pink lipstick on sometimes your teeth can feel a bit yellow, I think this has helped in that department. It's definately one of the better whitening toothpastes I've tried. Don't let the black put you off, it's minty and tastes and feels just like a normal toothpaste! This retails at £4.99 but I got mine on offer. I really want to try other whitening treatments in the future but for now this is a budget way to go. Have you tried this toothpaste?
